Southern Stairlifts FAQs

How long has Southern Stairlifts been in business?

Since 1999 – a long time! Part of the Orange Badge Mobility Group, we serve the needs of customers with mobility problems throughout the South East.

With over 23 years’ experience, and having installed literally thousands of stairlifts in homes throughout the region, we know that we’ve improved the lives of many, many people. When it comes to safer, more secure use of your stairs, let Southern Stairlifts look after you. From expert advice, installation and aftercare, we think that your needs come first. Our longevity proves it.

Well, let’s find out together.

To put things simply, if you are struggling with your stairs at home – for whatever reason – the answer is almost certainly “yes”. Perhaps the upper floors in your home are increasingly out of bounds; you’re living downstairs, which isn’t great. Or, you’ve already slipped on or near your stairs, and suffered a loss of mobility confidence as a result.

We’re here to solve all that.

Whether you have a straight staircase, one that curves around corners onto landings, or one that twists and turns up more than one storey, our bespoke designs will completely work in your property. Easy to use, and super-safe and secure, if you’d like your life back then a stairlift most certainly IS the right solution for you.

Quick answer – no. Don’t be at all concerned. All our stairlifts are fixed to your stairs, not your wall, so when the time comes to remove it, you’ll hardly know it’s been there.

Just out of interest, your stairlift can fold up, making its staircase presence discreet and user-friendly for all your family.

Both. Our range of stairlifts are powered by batteries, but we will need an outlet at the bottom or the top of the stairs for the battery to stay charged. There’s no need for concern here. If appropriate, we’ll install a non-obtrusive power point as part of our installation service at no extra charge.

Otherwise known as domestic lifts, the answer is yes, we do. They’re new. And, they’re amazing.

We think our Stitlz range is simply outstanding. Powered by a single 13-amp socket, these are through-floor lifts that look like, well…lifts. Except they’re in your home, scaled and pared down precisely to your needs. Not only do they have an extremely small footprint, they’re whisper-quiet, too. Plus, they’re as elegant as can be, boasting sleek, chic styling to complement your home.

Incredible form and function, for access-all-areas ease of use.

Yes.

Our ultra-high-quality, super-durable outdoors stairlifts are the ideal solution to navigating your outside steps when you want to go up or down to your garden. External steps can be dangerous when slippery or wet – or, to be fair, at any time of the year.

It’s time to enjoy your plants and flowers, and some much-deserved fresh air. In safety. Our range of outdoors stairlifts are made from weather-proof materials, and with their long-lasting, high quality build standards will last for years and years. An excellent question, but given the custom-designed nature of what we do, we can’t give you a definitive answer here and now. Every home is different; thus the size, width and depth of your staircase will also be distinct. Equally, your mobility concerns will be unique to you.

The best thing to do is to arrange a free, no obligation home visit for a surveyor to discuss your requirements. We can often offer next-day visits, so don’t hesitate to get in touch on 03442 16 16 16 today.

The engineering and fitting team from Southern Stairlifts will be fully prepared and have complete details of everything. Likewise, we will have advised you well in advance not only of the date and time of your appointment, but also how long your installation is likely to take.

Bespoke stairlift installations will require extra time. More straightforward lifts – obviously, much less. With the latter, sometimes just a couple of hours.

Your installers will show you how to use your new stairlift, and they’ll leave your home in an immaculate condition when they leave. And now, all you have to do is explore upstairs!
